Tagged: School Days
Aaah, the last of the 3 tags...
This one is from Om Luji (A.K.A Gandhi wana ely Hitler wee seteen Hitler), Ra3d, wee kol el naas el kwayesa ily tagged me :)
1. Did you use to be a good student at school?
I have a comment before I actually answer this…
When I read some of the answers that my fellow bloggers wrote, it seems to me they (the bloggers) were all ACES!
It seems I am the only donkey around here! 7'alas ya3ny mafysh talameez 3adeeyn zay maa kont ana?! Lol
OK, ok…yes, I was a normal student. Got good marks and that's it!
All the way through school I was a good, polite, sort of quiet student. I was not the center of attention although I was usually part of it (ba7'osh fel za7ma).
I only was a bit mischievous in 3rd year of Intermediate School (e3dady), I actually used to throw chalks at the black board as our Mathematics teacher gave us his back.
I had 2 parental counseling sessions (isted3aa2 wali amr).
The first one, my mother came and she was so disappointed, I thought to myself…next time I'll ask my friend's mother to come instead…and I did just that! lol
Note: my mother got to know about it many years later through my friend's mother…hehehehe.
Only in Thanawi (Secondary school) did I get better marks (maybe because I took Thanawiya in Saudi?!).
In College I got even worse. I became a dude that studies the night before the exam (like all my friends in College). I graduated with a "Good" grade.
Do you want to know something strange?
I used to study in front of TV "ALL" the time!
Do you want to know something more strange?
In Tanya Thanawi (2nd year Secondary School), I studied in front of the Football World Cup Matches in 1994 (the on played in USA). Yes, I had an exam everyday and I held the book as I was watching all games!
I watched "Roberto Baggio" (Italy) miss his penalty in the final game... i jumped, screamed and sat down to read about when the Mammoth became distinct !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My friends in college used to call me fadfadation (using my real name) "El Engaz". That is because I used to browse through the books just underlining stuff.
If we studied together, I used to be the first one to finish and usually go play FIFA football game on the computer.
2. What were your most loved and most hated subjects?
Most loved:
History, history, history… amoot fel history! I considered it fascinating stories. Obviously by now (if you read my previous posts), you noticed that I have a romantic relation with history and historical stuff.
I was good in English (awful spelling though, my mother wanted to kill me at some point…lol).
I did well in Arabic Poetry (Nosoos) but never liked it. I was average on French (now I can not remember a word), didn’t like it or hate it…fel nos ya3ny. Was good at Geography, never thought much about it.
Most hated:
I hated Mathematics, Arabic (na7w, although I got to know it's importance later on when trying to read Quran correctly), Physics…oh, what the heck, just add all the other subjects here :)
Boso, min el a7'er, I never took studying life seriously, I just spent my days keda… I just concentrated on the weekends :)
3. When young, what did you want to become?
Never thought of it! Lol
Do you want a funny story (one of my friends uses it to humiliate me till now in a kidding way of course)?
When I was in Saudi, I once was with 2 of my best Egyptian friends (K. And Ibra). Both of them were discussing what they want to be or their goals in life. Then, Ibra turned to me and said:
Ibra: "Haa ya fadfadation, which university do you want to go to?"
Me: "No idea."
Ibra: "Tab, what do you want to be?"
Me: "Aaaah, anything."
Ibra:" Tab, what do you imagine yourself doing after graduation ya3ny?!!" (with a very astonished look on his face).
Me: "Never thought of it."
Ibra: "Tab, what is your ambition in life (tomo7ak eh)?"
Me: "Aaaaaah, i don't know. Maybe just a good job, get married, have kids and maybe a nice little car…that's it."
Ibra (laughing out laud):" eh dah yabny?! Mafysh tomooo7 7'ales?! Eeeh, benkalem regl kanaba?!"
Loooooooooool
Till now whenever I meet Ibra or K. they say to me: "Anyone who sees you now and what you have become, would never have thought that you are the same person in that conversation we had years ago"…lol
Mood: Chuckling :)
