In Muslim Communities, It Is Amazing How…

From My E-mail:

It is amazing how …
  1. It is amazing how some people would take a few mistakes done by someone and decide that "this person is no good" even though the person is trying to repent.
  2. It is amazing how some people think because they read a couple of books about Islam, they can go out and change Islam inside out to cope with their thoughts.
  3. It is amazing how some people who drink liquor, commit adultery or worse, lie, curse, not pray and maybe even are not educated about Islam come out and say things like:" la2a maho el deen maa bey2olsh keda" (religion doesn't say that) or "Asl el deen..bla bla" (Religion should be like this…bla bla").
  4. It is amazing how some people complain about too many weird fatawa (rules built on Islamic law per a point of view in light of Quran or Suna) coming out these days by some scholars, while they (themselves) come out with fatawa about Islamic topics that have nothing to do with what Quran or Suna say (Prophet's sayings or doings) .
  5. It is amazing how some people think that Islam can "ONLY" be understood by reading books. They forget that the message was delivered from generation to generation via direct contact with teachers (Prophets then clerics…etc.).
  6. It is amazing how some people think that our "ONLY" way back to becoming a pioneer nation or civilization is through war!
  7. It is amazing how some people find wearing Bikinis normal, while wearing a Hijab is backwardness.
  8. It is amazing how some people seem to read Quran using "Latin translation" and come up with weird fatawa while their fatwa has no proof from Quran or Suna.
  9. It is amazing how some people the only thing they know about Islam is that they have it written in the ID's Religion section.
  10. It is amazing how some people don't give a rats "behind" how Islam is represented. Islam to them is just a name of some blob!
  11. It is amazing how some people think that if a woman covers her head and still wears tight clothes…that's Hijab?!!!!!!
  12. It is amazing how some people think that when a woman wears Hijab, that's the maximum she can give or do for Islam!
  13. It is amazing how some people think that Islam is just about worshipping and forget about manners (amongst other things).
  14. It is amazing how some people think Islam is so weak, it can not outcast people who manipulate it.
  15. It is amazing how some people think only they know Islam. The worse part is that even their opinions do not have any proof from Quran or Suna!
  16. It is amazing how some people think that wearing a Thoob (white dress) and growing a long beard makes one a perfect Muslim!
  17. It is amazing how some people call some unknown worthless so called thinkers: " Pioneers" and "Visionaries", while those sa called thinkers only want things that will not help develop society or manners or even toilets!
  18. It is amazing how some people lecture us about Islam and what it is all about (Per their view), while they are the worst examples of Islam you can meet!
  19. It is amazing how some people talk about Islam and how they love it, yet when someone goes opposite to what it stands for…they encourage them!!!!?!!!
  20. It is amazing how some people call anyone who wants to stick to what God commanded: "a backward person", "from the dark times", "fanatic", "fundamentalist", And sometimes even "terrorist".
  21. It is amazing how some people would label anyone who doesn't have the same "secular" point of view: "A terrorist".
  22. It is amazing how some people see anyone who sticks to the literate wordings of Quran as "blind people" or "people who don't use their minds" although it is a way of Fikh (concluding rules from Quran or Suna).
  23. It is amazing how some people come out with fatawa without checking "when", "why" and "how" this verse was revealed and applied.
  24. It is amazing how some people seem to generalize that the west is "ALL" evil.
  25. It is amazing how some people seem to generalize that "ALL" foreigners are not fair to us.
  26. It is amazing how some people come out with suggestion that deform what Islam is all about just to suit their thoughts and needs. These people call themselves: "liberal", "progressive", "open minded"…of course this implies that anyone who doesn’t have the same point of view is the complete opposite.
  27. It is amazing how some people idolize western figures and have no Islamic or even Arab idols…not even the Prophet as one!
  28. It is amazing how some people seem to have "Pepsi Cola" running in their veins instead of hot blood and have no problem that someone curses or insults their religion (not to mention Prophet!).
  29. It is amazing how some people want total freedom, while that doesn't even exist in the most democratic countries (i.e. discussing or doubting the holucost..etc.). There are always limits to everything.
  30. It is amazing how some people want intellectual freedom, when you ask them to explain it, you'll find out that bottom line it is all about indecency, sexual relations, and insulting religions.
  31. It is amazing how some people have no problem to remove Islam from the constitution or even from everything in life as much as they care, while they get very heated up if someone argued how a story was too provocative.
  32. It is amazing how some people want the right to "undress" (yemsho balabees fel share3) while they oppose women's right to choose to cover up (Hijab) and abide to God's words!!
  33. It is amazing how some people think that "ONLY" with one's talent and hard work will one get anywhere, forgetting the "first" and most important factor that would make one exceed further…GOD!

Maybe everyone has the right to believe in what they want, yet…

People will never cease to amaze me!

Mood: Still sleepy...

i can totally relate & agree with what amzaes you here.
especially after my last experience. you summed up many of muslims' community flaws. hope we can learn the lesson.
stressing on no. 1, know what!! such people can be the rootcause for some muslims fear of repenting, because they know those people won't let it go,even when they do the right thing.

so ,simply, let religion be the a sole sacred relation between God & a person only. people should be neglected & do what is right.i guess

Fadfadation said...

I agree.

The relation between a person and God should stay like that (the personal stuff ya3ny).

But on the other hand, the things that affect society like fraud, cheating, bribery, assault, torture, injustice...etc should be everyone's business to fight against.

many of ur points are valid. Islam is being pulled by two extreme forces, one of them very liberal, the other very fundamental. Both of them are unreliable and harmful to any real development.
But it sadens me that I don't see a solution. I am not very knowledgeable in religious studies to give a direct opinion. I just have some basics and use some common sense. (Which is not enough in many cases).
So what do u suggest?

Sounds like someone (whoever wrote the email) had a lot of steam to let out! :)

u absolutely right and ur words prove that all problems we have in our Islamic world are from our blindness and all try to say any thing without enough realize and understand we just counterfeit with know every thing but we miss all also we donot try to do what we know in ourselves just speak

Fadfadation said...

Nousha,

"So what do u suggest?"
If we have a bases where each one starts with himself, his family and anyone around him that's a good start.

It is all about being a good example of Islam.
Over time, a new generation will come out that have the same values that we want them to have (the moderate ones).

At least that is the corner stone for getting out of the gutter we are in now.

Walaho a3lam :)

Or even:" i don't do anything wrong, but i smoke hash"!!!!!!

ay kalam fel izaaz yam3alem

It's amazing how I disagree with this whole email except maybe 1 or 2 points in it :) the ones that have to do with the double standards.

Sagacious Sara said...

hmmm... you're so right about most of those points. I keep thinking those thoughts about people I know, ya3ni, there are ppl I know who drink everyday almost, and then they want to go to hajj this year. Rabina Yehdeehom akeed ISA. But its such a huge contradiction! But then think "who am I to judge?". I'm not a very good muslim, or rather I should be better.

Mabrouk for that 9-0 Zamalek match!

Hallo. Sad but true reality my friend.

You've been tagged for the thinking blogger award.

Fadfadation said...

Om Luji,

You have the right to think what you want, that doesn't mean these things don't exist ;P

Fadfadation said...

Sara,

Walahi non of us is a good Muslim (%100 ya3ny).
The good thing is that there are people like yourself (and i hopefully) saying :" I should be better.", that's the way to go.

And as for the people who drink...you said it: "Rabina Yehdeehom akeed ISA.". Al 7amdo lelah they are thinking of going for Omra aslan! who knows, they might change after it.

Thanks for the Zamalek thing..lol

when i got to know this i was like..."laa ya ragel! konto fyn min el 2awel...lol"

hi fadfadation,
this is my first visit to your blog but Iam sure it won't be the last.it's my pleasure to read for someone like u. and I agree with u on many of what came in this post but don't you see that "it is amazing how some people think that "ONLY" with one's talent and hard work will one get anywhere, forgetting the "first" and most important factor that would make one exceed further…GOD". is too much, I mean you AMAZED me when I read that. it is obvious that you are very well educated and that you've travelled abroad to other countries and I am sure that you are definite that on a personal level a lot of non-muslim guys wether christians or atheists even acheive lots of successes ("ONLY" with their talent and hard work)and that on the level of countries and nations most of the first world industrial technology producing countries are non muslim...back to the point where you speak about people who does not know about islam more than it is written in the religion section in their ID's, well that happens a lot in many religions other than islam..finally I wonder why you are amazed at the people who want the right to walk naked in the streets but refuse to let women wear hijab well dear this is a natural response to the muslim extremist opinion that women shouldn't be allowed outdoors without hijab...thx for the post and I'll come back later for your reply..

Hi Adam,

Sorry for the delay but i am having a hard time blogging these days... never in the mood for it :(

Anyway,
I understand your line of thought.

I would have helped if you'd tell me more info about yourself (arab or non-arab, muslim or non-muslim) so i could explain to you better.

Let me explain where i am coming from...

1- When you said:
"but don't you see that "it is amazing how some people think that "ONLY" with one's talent and hard work will one get anywhere, forgetting the "first" and most important factor that would make one exceed further…GOD". is too much, I mean you AMAZED me when I read that. it is obvious that you are very well educated and that you've travelled abroad to other countries and I am sure that you are definite that on a personal level a lot of non-muslim guys wether christians or atheists even acheive lots of successes ("ONLY" with their talent and hard work)and that on the level of countries and nations most of the first world industrial technology producing countries are non muslim..."

First of all... don't be amazed Adam because i am not talking about non-muslims in this post.

Of course there are non-muslims (a lot) who excel in life "only" with their talent and hard work. But, these aer not the ones i talk about.

I am talking about muslims. And as muslims we have a different equation we go iwth in life (or at least we should be per what God ordered us to do).

For example, God told us to do our best in work, have the best manners and ethics. Not only that, HE told us we will be rewarded greatly if we do well and help advance this world into a better place.

At the same time HE told us something never to forget as muslims (which is what i was talking about in my post)... that is We need GOd on our side to help us go even beyond what we can achive with our pure talent and hard work.

I personally have to say, the more hard work, trainning, and trying to be a better muslims...the more rewards i get in this life.
Rewards and blessings i never thought possible professionally and personally.

Another thing...
Any religiuos person (or trying to be religious like me for example) in the world will tell you this...

We need God on our side to guide us and hepl us through life... in all aspects in life (besides talent...etc.).

it doesn't matter if the person is a jew, christian or muslim.

2- You said:
"where you speak about people who does not know about islam more than it is written in the religion section in their ID's, well that happens a lot in many religions other than islam"

Well i am not talking about other religions here...just islam. THe post was about Muslim communities O Adam :)

3- You said:
"..why you are amazed at the people who want the right to walk naked in the streets but refuse to let women wear hijab well dear this is a natural response to the muslim extremist opinion that women shouldn't be allowed outdoors without hijab
"

I am amazed becuase that is called couble standards. If anyone wants the right to go naked (relatively of course...lol), then that same person should not refuse to give other women the right to choose to cover.
It is simple... if you want freedom to take it off...don't take the freedom to put it on from people!

bas.

You know what is even more amazing??? I know some (women) who have converted to Islam, married Egyptians, live in Egypt and display many of these same tendencies. I wonder why they bothered to do any of those 3 things if they are so miserable with their deen? It upsets me really!

Queen,

It is very upsetting :\
